Warning over Yemen terror camps
An alert has been issued by the country’s security service, which has discovered that the training is being overseen by toxicology expert from Pakistan.
Former British student Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab is said to have attended such a training camp before he allegedly tried to bomb an airliner over Detroit in the US in December.
The Pakistani poisons expert in Yemen is said to be heading a programme to create “death squads” that specialise in using toxic gases and chemicals.
Dozens of militants have already been trained, according to security sources in the country.
Following his arrest in Detroit, Abdulmutallab told investigators that there are 20 others like him ready to mount similar attacks.
Information he has provided is said to have resulted in the arrest of ten al-Qaeda suspects in Malaysia.
