November 20, 2009 (CHICAGO) (WLS) — The tallest building in North America was his target. Friday in Miami he paid a high price for aiming to destroy it.
Narseal Batiste, the ringleader of a group of men convicted of plotting to take down Chicago’s Sears Tower and bomb FBI offices here and elsewhere, was sentenced to 13 ½ years. Authorities had asked for a much longer sentence for Batiste, who faced a maximum of 70-years in prison from U.S. District Judge Joan Lenard.
