TWO British soldiers from The Royal Scots Borderers died yesterday as a result of an explosion in Sangin, near Helmand province, the Ministry of Defence said today.
It is with great sadness that the Ministry of Defence must confirm that Corporal Liam Riley and Lance Corporal Graham Shaw from 3rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment (3 YORKS) were killed in Helmand province on Monday 1 February 2010.
The soldiers were both from 3rd Battalion The Yorkshire Regiment and were on foot patrol with the 1 Coldstream Guards Battle Group when they were killed as a result of two blasts caused by improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
